The endpoint of EcoHumRA is a prospective or retrospective assessment of stress factors influence (chemical contaminants, anthropogenic interventions or natural disasters) on ecosystems and their parts. Monitoring and collecting of available information as the source data for EcoHumRA is a key part of the process for the assessor. The availability and quality of input data determines the complexity and feasibility of the process. In the problem description phase it is possible to use public available high-quality data from on-line Internet databases and web services, e.g. toxicological properties of chemicals, GIS characteristics and maps and so on. |

The application of information and communication technology (ICT) to the environment is emerging as one of great importance as the health of our planet gains priority on research agendas. Modelling is an important aspect of enviromatics, but it is not the only one. Ultimately, environmental information must be put into people's hands so that they can make decisions. Answering the question of how best to involve stakeholders so that they can access the information they need and put it to use in a satisfying manner is a topic of ongoing research.

| 9/1/2007 | ISESS 2007 | News | FP7 Information Day on ICT for Environmental Management and Energy Efficiency Dr. Michel SCHOUPPE This FP7 Information Day is organised by the Information Society and Media Directorate-General (DG INFSO) of the European Commission with the kind support of the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic and the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences CG. The aim is to present funding opportunities under the Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7) in the field of "Information and Communication Technologies for Environmental Management and Energy Efficiency" (Objective ICT-2007.6.3). Focus will be on research activities carried out by different research bodies in trans-national cooperation with the aim to gain or consolidate European leadership in the above key scientific and technology areas.
