Scope

This is to announce that an International Symposium for Environmental Software Systems (ISESS) stream will take place during the iEMSs 2006 conference (www.iemss.org/iemss2006). The conference will take place in Burlington, Vermont, USA at the Wyndham Hotel from July 9-12, 2006.


This session will showcase the international efforts of ISESS to incorporate advanced software technologies into environmental problem-solving. The papers that have been invited illustrates that the work on environmental informatics make original contributions to software engineering and software development. These contributions recognize the unique and difficult issues facing environmental agencies and researchers. Some of the problems include imprecise data, complexity in environmental systems and understanding the ways in which environmental awareness is best amplified.

Venue

The conference will be held in the rooms of the Wyndham Burlington, just in front of Lake Champlain, in a modern hotel with all comforts. It is located (see the balloon labeled 'A') in the centre of Burlington, VT .

Burlington lies on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain between the Adirondack and Green Mountains, Burlington is one of America's most liveable cities.
